{"id":131,"date":"2018-06-11T23:09:21","date_gmt":"2018-06-11T23:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lp21.uk\/?page_id=131"},"modified":"2018-07-20T17:10:27","modified_gmt":"2018-07-20T17:10:27","slug":"pre-surgery","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lp21.uk\/?page_id=131","title":{"rendered":"Pre Surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">From the X-<wbr \/>rays, a loose body could be seen in my ankle, and under anaesthetic, the surgeon removed a bone fragment about 1\/2&#8243; x 3\/4&#8243;, and also <a class=\"C-4\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Debridement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">debrided<\/a> the ankle joint. <a class=\"C-4\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arthritis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arthritis<\/a> could be seen in the joint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Some time passed and the ankle was not getting any better, it was suggested an infusion of <\/span><a class=\"C-4\" href=\"http:\/\/www.macmillan.org.uk\/information-and-support\/treating\/supportive-and-other-treatments\/bisphosphonates\/pamidronate.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pamidronate<\/a><span class=\"C-3\"> be performed. I agreed, but was told of side effects which included severe dental problems, I spoke with my dentist who confirmed I was not at high risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">At this stage, my yearly private health cover was running low, so I went on the NHS to get the Pamidronate infusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">My <\/span><a class=\"C-4\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/Conditions\/vitamins-minerals\/Pages\/Vitamin-D.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vitamin D<\/a><span class=\"C-3\"> was tested and found to be rock bottom, this had to be increased before Pamidronate was given, otherwise it wouldn&#8217;t benefit me. So a course of Vitamin D tablets was issued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Sometime during this period I had an X-<wbr \/>ray at the NHS, they told me my ankle was &#8216;normal&#8217;.
